I have known Phil for a few years.
He graduated from college right after the turn of the century and quickly landed a great corporate job as a computer programmer. He loved the critical thinking and exploratory nature of the job.
It was a perfect fit.
And by all accounts, things were looking up. He was making good money and the economy seemed to be headed in the right direction after the Dot-com bubble burst.
Then came the subprime crisis in 2008.
Like his Baby boomer, Gen Xer, and Millennial co-workers, he saw his company sponsored retirement account drop… fast.
How could such a smart guy let this happen to himself?
After doing some research, he realized it was big banks and government officials collaborating to take advantage of the Average Joe.
The Powers That Be knew they could take advantage of ordinary people’s primal desire to ‘keep up with the Joneses.’
What better way to feed that never-ending thirst than to help them get into that bigger house… regardless of whether or not they could afford it?
But not Phil.
He lived within his means and was conservative with his investments. Yet he still lost a ton of his hard earned money.
Phil promised himself he would never let that happen again. Now it was time to take matters into his own hands.
That’s when Phil discovered cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology behind it.
Unlike the stock market or real estate, investing in cryptocurrencies spoke to Phil’s core. It was something he could really dig his teeth into.
